The Initial Phase of the Gowanus Watershed Flood Survey will focus on Combined Sewer Outfall OH-007. This project aims to collect basic information about flood history and downspout connections from rooftop to drain in single and multi family dwellings of the neighborhoods that make up the Gowanus Canal Watershed. These neighborhoods include Park Slope, Carroll Gardens, Cobble Hill, Boerum Hill and Prospect Heights. This information will help members of the community better understand their building's relationship to their local watershed.
For better understanding our Combined Sewer System check out this NYC DEP brochure. For information on your home's updated FEMA flood risk, please take a look at the NYC Flood Zone Map.
